Barry Eyre

Managing Director

Mr. Eyre joined Cypress Associates as a managing director in 2025.  He is based in Rhode Island and serves Cypress’ clients in the New England region.  Mr. Eyre spent more than a decade working in investment banking and capital markets in both New York and London.  He worked for Kidder Peabody,  Bankers Trust,  and Deutsche Bank.

From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Eyre was the founder and managing partner of Putney Realty, a real estate development company that specialized in converting multi-family apartment buildings into condominiums.

From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Eyre was the founder and managing partner of Saint John Stone, a specialty supplier of hard surfaces. Saint John Stone imported materials from China, Italy, Brazil, and India for the hospital, gaming, and residential construction industries.

Mr. Eyre has worked in the health insurance industry over the past decade, helping large plan sponsors reduce the cost of providing benefits to their employees.   This included retiree benefits, stop-loss insurance, pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services, and other targeted cost containment programs.

Immediately before joining Cypress, Mr. Eyre was a managing director of Full Sail Management, providing strategic financial advice to early-stage companies in the medical device and medical diagnostics industry.

Mr. Eyre is the treasurer of the Jamestown Arts Center, a non-profit visual and performing arts space that hosts arts exhibitions, cultural events, and educational programming.

Mr. Eyre graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a BS in Finance.   He also earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
